A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured in an accident on Monday evening. She was hit by a motorist while crossing the road on Baden Powelllaan in Tilburg.
The woman was crossing on foot at a zebra crossing where she was hit by the motorist. The police are investigating what exactly happened and where exactly the woman crossed the road.
An air ambulance was called. This had not yet arrived when it was decided to take the woman to the hospital by ambulance.
The road will remain closed for hours for an extensive investigation into the circumstances.
