Wolter Kroes gets a big blow from Johan Derksen. The Today Inside star finds it very easy that the folk singer shouts that Thijs Römer should never be allowed on the tube again.
After the online abuse of underage girls, according to Wolter Kroes, it is clear: he never has to see Thijs Römer again on television. It is of course a popular opinion, with which many people will agree. He probably just has a point, because who ever puts Thijs on the poster of a romantic comedy?
Walter Kroes
Johan Derksen, however, thinks it’s popiejopie behavior and punishes it. “Do you know what also annoyed me so much, René, this morning?” he says Inside today. “I read that that Wouter… Walter Kroes is his name, I believe. Such a singer… Wolter Kroes. Also such a tasteless singer… Yes, you know all those songs, I have never heard of that man.”
He continues: “I think: all those people who are nothing, they sit in the judge’s chair, and he then says between nose and lips – and he does that consciously, to score, because he knows that it is in goes like cake with the Dutch public – that Thijs Römer should never be on television again.”
‘don’t have to die’
You shouldn’t want to publicly stone a Thijs like that, says Johan. “Then I think: that Thijs Römer has had such a great blow to his ears, he has been punished so severely for something very nasty that he has done, but he doesn’t have to die or anything, does he?”
René van der Gijp: “Of course not. He must serve his sentence.”
Popiejopie
After serving that sentence, Thijs can simply return to society, says Johan. “Then a folk singer like that starts acting popiejopie, because they know: in North Amsterdam they wholeheartedly agree with that. I think it goes very far. Leave that to the judge.”
Unfortunately for Thijs, it is not the judge who is about his return to television. Sentence served or not: the chance that the masses will ever want to see him in a major film or series is nil.
