The German runner-up VfL Wolfsburg has to cope with the second well-known departure of the winter break.
The women’s Bundesliga team has to let the Danish national soccer player Sofie Svava move to Real Madrid. National player Sara Doorsoun’s move to Eintracht Frankfurt was only announced on Tuesday.
Svava’s contract in Wolfsburg ran until 2024.
“Particularly with a view to the general economic conditions, we decided not to stand in the way of the wish to change and to terminate the contract with Sofie,” said Ralf Kellermann, sporting director of the VfL women.
