The couple lives exactly on the border of Drenthe and Friesland, according to BIJ12, the organization that carries out tasks, including fauna damage, for twelve collaborating provinces. The wolf pair gave birth to at least three cubs. Presumably one of these animals recently died near Appelscha. DNA research has yet to show whether it is actually a member of this litter.
