The number of incidents involving predators in Italy continues to increase. After a bear killed a 26-year-old jogger in the Italian Alps in April, a 56-year-old woman has also been injured in a wolf attack.
The woman came face to face with a wolf in Palombaro, south of Pescara. The predator attacked her dog while out for a walk. The fifty-year-old fell to the ground and injured her knee and wrist when she tried to protect her four-legged friend.
The wolf went after the woman’s dog and then disappeared from sight. He left a trail of blood in the surrounding woods. There is no trace of the dog.
