The sheepfold in Hijken is again the setting for a Christmas Eve service tonight. The organization is busy putting the finishing touches on it, but this year’s edition brings some challenges.
“We usually start the construction on Saturday, then we have some free time to do some final things on Sunday evening,” explains Leen Boer of the organization. “Because the wolf walks in Drenthe, the sheep had to go back in on Saturday evening, which is why we were not able to do much on Saturday.”
