Wolder Vinyl Café also offers live artists, all shows also go on the air

A special handyman team has been busy for days furnishing the tent in the green heart of Zuidwolde, where the first Wolder Vinyl Café will be opened on Tuesday evening. A lot of work still needs to be done in the coming days.

The event, which also falls under the Wiede Wold flag, has more to offer than just vinyl fanatics playing their records. On Friday afternoon, for example, the duo Jan and Karin will perform, in fact the duo Jan and Zwaan. On Saturday evening at 10:30 PM there will be a guest performance by singer Danilo Wattez, known from the pirate circuit. He comes from Elim, sings in Dutch and is called the new Jannes by experts.

Before that happens, the job team still has to shed a lot of sweat. A special café atmosphere is created with a lot of wood, all tables, chairs and knick-knacks complete the atmosphere. The participating groups and individuals must then complete it completely.

Live into the ether

For those who are unable to come to the café themselves, there are several options to attend. The 100 hours of music that will be played from the pop-up Wolder Vinyl Café from Tuesday evening, December 12, will also be broadcast live into the airwaves via the frequency 107.0 FM. That’s a special event frequency. In addition, all shows are available via livestream www.woldervinylcafe.nl to follow, that is with images from the café.

The café will be opened on Tuesday at 8 p.m. by Mayor Inge Nieuwenhuizen and her aldermen. The DJs and groups that will be playing until Saturday include well-known names such as Albert Haar, Benny Spin, Bart Kiers and Ryan Blanken. In addition, several groups provide shows, such as Jong Belegen Suudwolde, Beunhazenteam, Music SF and the Onwies Faute Feestteam.

Blues lover

A large part of the music has to do with pirates, as can be seen from the overview of the groups participating. But there is more, because Albert Haar is known to be a blues lover, although he has already announced that he plays more than blues. Benny Spin, a musician himself, produces pop and rock, mainly from the eighties. There is plenty of suitable music for older listeners and visitors, for example Bart Kiers provides the elderly afternoon with a pub quiz. Club SF is very different, known for their own parties, which, among other things, serves psychedelic rock. DJ Snekfen promises varied threesomes and thrift store hits, while Rob Joosten and Henk Duinkerken promise a nostalgic journey that goes back to the seventies.

In principle it runs day and night, the café in the green heart of Zuidwolde is open to the public every day from 9 a.m. until late at night. Visitors are recommended to register in advance via the site, especially for the popular hours. There is room for 150 people per block. The website shows exactly who is running and when.
