It was announced on Monday that Thomas Rothe would be leaving the board of the retailer Rudolf Wöhrl SE at the end of January next year to take over the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the clothing group S.Oliver Group. According to a statement from Wöhrl, his previous position has already been filled again.
“The successor to the two-person board, which will continue to be led by Thomas Weckerlein as chairman, has already been found and will be announced shortly,” explained the retailer. The designated board member has “many years of management experience in fashion retail” and will “start at Wöhrl on March 1, 2024.” However, the exact future distribution of responsibilities on the board has “not yet been finally decided”.
Christian Greiner, the owner and chairman of the supervisory board of Wöhrl, commented on the personnel change: “Thomas Rothe made an important contribution to keeping Wöhrl on track in a difficult time for the retail sector due to Corona restrictions, inflation and declining consumer spending,” he explained in a statement. “I regret but respect his decision to take on a new challenge and wish him all the best for it. At the same time, I am pleased that we were able to quickly find a successor with industry experience.”
