Wöhrl and Ramelow awarded by HDE

The German Retail Association honored the “Stores of the Year” at the Retail Real Estate Congress. Two fashion companies were among the 2023 winners.

The converted six-story Nuremberg headquarters of the clothing retailer Wöhrl won in the fashion category. In addition to a new beauty area and a wide range of clothing, the fashion house also has something to offer in terms of gastronomy. “In addition to the highest LED wall in Europe, the jury was impressed by the services integrated into the house, such as the post office,” said the HDE on Tuesday.

The fashion house Ramelow in Elmshorn received the special prize. The existing building, which was expanded during ongoing operations, convinced the jury as a local meeting place and with the “interaction of modern office and retail space, gastronomy and public roof terrace”.

The other winners were eyewear retailer Mister Spex with its flagship store in Cologne’s Schildergasse and MediaMarktSaturn’s Xperion, which brings together retail and gaming in Berlin as a contact point for game fans, influencers and e-sports professionals. The Rewe branch on the Anger in Erfurt was recognized for its versatile mix of retail, residential, medical and catering uses.
