Witt Group acquires Klingel brand Impressionen

The insolvent mail order company Klingel Group has sold another brand. On Monday, the company announced that the Witt Group, which belongs to the Hamburg trading and services group Otto Group, will acquire the Impressionen brand and its domain. The creditors’ committee has already “unanimously approved” the sale, it said in a statement. The approval of the antitrust authorities is still pending.

With the transaction now agreed, there is once again a future perspective for the online platform Impressionen, which specializes in clothing as well as furnishing and decorative items, and which ceased operations at the end of January. Its parent company Impressionen Versand GmbH, which has been part of the Klingel Group since 2017, has been in self-administration in restructuring proceedings since May last year.

Witt had already acquired the consignor Wenz from the insolvent Klingel Group

Patrick Boos, CEO of the Witt Group, explained the acquisition: “Our goal is to strengthen and expand the living area in addition to fashion. We are confident that the purchase of the Impressionen brand will make a significant contribution to this,” he said in a statement. The group had already used Klingel before: at the beginning of February it had secured the sender Wenz.

The Klingel parent K – Mail Order GmbH & Co. KG filed for bankruptcy in May last year. The parent company of the Klingel Group, like its subsidiary Impressionen, ceased business operations at the end of January. Numerous brands have already been sold over the past few months. In addition to Wenz, the clothing brands Alba Moda, Klingel, Babista, Mona, Miamoda and Happysize as well as the jewelry supplier Diemer, the shoe label Vamos, the health brand Wellsana and the promotional products specialist Schneider found new owners.
