Without any feelings of revenge, Pelikaan S now gets five of its own and loses in Rijssen

Last week’s revival was short-lived at Pelikaas S. The team of coach Robbie Wentink then won 5-1 against SDV Barneveld at home, driven by feelings of revenge. Against Excelsior’31 from Rijssen it was the opposite world on Saturday. The score was 5-0 for the home team.

The players of Pelikaan S, which will no longer play performance football with the first team after next season, were so annoyed last week because of a match report from Barneveld in which they were called old and worn out. The people of Rijssen wisely left that out – there was no reason to do so, because the first match between the current leader and Pelikaan S ended in 3-3.

It meant that they met a much tamer Pelikaas S. Wentink opted for a defensive tactic and let the leader make the play. Initially they managed to get away with it a few times and the damage was limited to just one goal before half time. After rest things went quickly. The score was 2-0 after just five minutes of play and the home team then ended up with a 5-0 final score. Pelikaan S remains last in the fourth division D.
