With this trick you can make a perfect egg (and use less energy) | Cooking & Eating

– Shocking your eggs will make them easier to peel. You also stop the clotting process. “Otherwise they will solidify further and become harder than you intended.”
– Want to know if your egg is fresh? Then you can float your egg in a glass of water. If it floats, it’s not fresh anymore. That doesn’t tell you if the egg isn’t good anymore, though. “The float test only works to test eggs for freshness, it says nothing about contamination with bacteria. It is therefore not the case that a non-fresh egg can no longer be kept. So don’t just throw the egg away.”
– By putting your lid on the pan, your water will boil sooner. And you use less energy.
– Check the packaging for the shelf life. Smell good on an egg that is not fresh or out of date. Does it smell different? Then don’t eat the egg. If it smells fine, you can still eat it. It is advisable to heat the egg well.”
