A new footpath has been constructed along the water between Vlamingstraat and Wilhelmina Park. As a result, we can now make a larger circle from the Dobbe area towards the Dorpsstraat.

Of course we could already walk from the Wilhelminapark towards the Dobbeplas, but only through the Dorpsstraat. With the new footpath you suddenly see the back of the Dorpsstraat from a completely different side. Also nice: the existing path along the Delftsewallenwetering has been renewed. This allows you to continue walking towards Driemanspolder and you can make your walk longer.

Now bald, but not anymore

Before the construction of the footpath, the dike was raised and reinforced with clay. Now the waterfront is still a bit bare, but reed grows along the banks. This not only ensures greenery, but also protection of the riverbank and it will prevent residents from looking at things. This new path is part of the Central Park plan. It is intended to connect the Dobbe area and the Dorpsstraat.
