FC Bayern continued its impeccable winning streak and celebrated a European record against Gladbach. Eintracht Frankfurt wins against St. Pauli thanks to a brace from Jonathan Burkardt, Wolfsburg’s losing streak ends at HSV, and Hoffenheim celebrates the next three points against Heidenheim. In Augsburg, where Leipzig was a guest, there was a double record result.
The Munich team beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-0 (0-0) and consolidated their lead in the Bundesliga with their eighth win. Bayern even managed 13 wins in 13 games across all competitions – only AC Milan had managed such a start to the season in the major European leagues in the autumn of 1992.
The Gladbachers, who have not won since the start of the season, have been waiting for a sense of success for 15 games and are stuck in the bottom of the table. Borussia’s coach Eugen Polanski now has two crucial games in the DFB Cup against Karlsruher SC (Tuesday, 8:45 p.m.) and next Saturday at FC St. Pauli.
In front of 54,042 spectators, the decision was made after an hour. Joshua Kimmich (62nd minute), Raphaël Guerreiro (69th) and Lennart Karl (81st) scored the goals for Bayern. In the 19th minute, Jens Castrop was shown a red card after a video review for a foul with an outstretched leg against Luis Diaz. Kevin Stöger missed a penalty for the hosts in the 75th minute.

Frankfurt wins thanks to Burkardt – Wolfsburg breathes a sigh of relief in Hamburg
Eintracht Frankfurt has achieved the longed-for liberation and plunged FC St. Pauli even deeper into the crisis. The Frankfurt team won 2-0 (1-0) at home against Hamburg on the eighth matchday of the Bundesliga and got three points again after four winless competitive games in a row. The Hessians remained without conceding a goal for the first time in ten games. St. Pauli, on the other hand, suffered their fifth defeat in a row and is still stuck in the bottom third of the table.
VfL Wolfsburg has made a breakthrough in the Bundesliga. After four defeats in a row, the Lower Saxony team scored 1-0 (1-0) at Hamburger SV. The newly promoted HSV suffered a setback after recent strong games and results. Adam Daghim (15th) scored decisively for Wolfsburg early on. HSV striker Ransford Königsdörffer missed the best chance to equalize with a poorly shot penalty kick shortly before half-time. With their second win of the season on the eighth matchday, Wolfsburg, who had improved compared to previous games, moved eight points clear of the danger zone. Despite the second home defeat, HSV did not disappoint and is still on target with eight points.
Hoffenheim ends home misery – double record in Augsburg
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and a brilliant Andrej Kramaric have ended their home misery in the Bundesliga. The Kraichgauer team celebrated their first win of the season in the Sinsheim stadium with an easy 3-1 (2-0) win against 1. FC Heidenheim. The national rivals from Ostalb are the only team abroad without winning a point. Fisnik Asllani gave the confident TSG the lead with his fifth goal of the season (18th minute). In addition, Tim Lemperle (45th + 2) scored in front of 24,127 spectators before Kramaric himself added (63rd). Stefan Schimmer’s goal didn’t change anything about Heidenheim’s situation and inferiority.
RB Leipzig is gaining momentum under new coach Ole Werner. In the fast-paced 6-0 (4-0) goal festival against FC Augsburg, the Saxons, which had some new turbo kickers around the famous teenagers Yan Diomande (18) and Assan Ouédraogo (19), appeared playful and ice-cold.
With their speed and technique, the attack line in particular with the goal scorers Yan Diomande (10th minute), Rômulo (18th) and Antonio Nusa (22nd) exposed coach Sandro Wagner’s host team as naive and overwhelmed. Christoph Baumgartner (38th) increased the score to 0:4 before the break. The strong Assan Ouédraogo crowned his performance after the break (56th). Defender Castello Lukeba (65th) went one better after a goalkeeper error. 0:6 – until Saturday, the Augsburg team had never lost that much in their own stadium in 15 years of the Bundesliga. The heaviest FCA defeat ever in the German elite league was an 8-1 defeat at VfL Wolfsburg in May 2019. The 6-0 win was also a record success in an away game for RB.
