The garbage has been cleaned up, the Haltestraat in the center of Zandvoort has been cleaned and the Formula 1 caravan has left the circuit. A single beer can and a forgotten bicycle still remind us of the party that erupted yesterday after Max Verstappen’s win during the second Dutch Grand Prix.
“Everything is spick and span again”, says a catering entrepreneur in the bus stop while he sprays the last beer remains from his sidewalk with the water hose. “It was a havoc.” But the smile on his face shows that he didn’t mind. And a small disturbance in the late evenings, which was quickly under control, according to a colleague. He is already quietly drinking a cup of coffee in front of a just tidy cafeteria.
With trolleys to the train
The last race fans meanwhile walk with their trolleys to the train, on their way to Ursem. “For a bit piss off after that victory yesterday, not straight home.”
Guests of a beach hotel have been very affected. Today it will be tropically warm again, so the beach beds are already being prepared for them. “Then they can enjoy the sun for a while and for us a nice end to the season and a wonderful weekend.”
