With a purchase option to Göztepe: Eintracht Frankfurt lends Akman again

Quote from Craven_Cottage

Ok, so you definitely won’t see him in the Eintracht shirt anymore. If he shoots up the second Turkish league, Göztepe will take the option and sell him on for a profit. In any other scenario, he is simply not interesting for Frankfurt.

I don’t see that as a bad thing!

Unfortunately, Göztepe has been relegated and is one of the candidates for promotion in the second Turkish league. The city of Izmir has over 5 million inhabitants and in Turkey Göztepe is as much a traditional club as Eintracht with several million fans.

Danish businessman Rasmus Ankersen. The 39-year-old is largely responsible for the successes of FC Midtjylland and FC Brentford and has recently taken charge of the club.

While Ankersen led Midtjylland to three championships as chairman of the board and helped Brentford to their first Premier League promotion in the club’s 74-year history as director of professional football and head of scouting, the Dane apparently now wants to steer the fortunes of Göztepe.

They also have a nice stadium.

I would have preferred to see Akman back in Holland Belgium or the German second division.
Göztepe probably promised to give him a lot of playing time.
He’s got talent and I think we’ll definitely be hearing from him again.
Maybe he was homesick too.

Göztepe has bought several promising talents and is building a team with Ankersen that should achieve similar goals as Midtjylland and Brentford.
If Akman hits, maybe we’ll see him at Brentford sometime 😉
