With a new album: Voodoo Jürgens goes on tour in 2022 and 2023 – here are the dates

The Austrian singer-songwriter Voodoo Jürgens is no longer unknown, at least among Austropop fans and ME readers. In 2016 ANSA WOAR was the black humorous solo debut of the ex-Eternias frontman, about which ME author Reiner Reitsamer said: “Voodoo Jürgens will probably not be as incredibly successful as Wanda’s colleagues. His atonal singsong is a bit too exhausting for that, his language too special. But he tells the old tale of Vienna, wine, woman and death, better than any of his contemporaries. In his review of the 2019 released follow-up ‘S KLANE GLÜCKSSPIEL’, Reitsamer partially corrected himself: “In his homeland, Voodoo Jürgens is now considered a star – and he really deserves that. Because David Öllerer, as he was born, surveys and maps a lost world with his artificial character. The taxi drivers and tachinians, losers and players who inhabit them move reliably between level rush and fourth heart attack. Voodoo Jürgens stages their loosely connected stories as small dramas in which he plays almost all the roles himself.”

Now or soon, on December 2, 2022, Voodoo Jürgens’ third record WIE DIE NOCHT NOCH JUNG WOR will be released. As the first single from it, “Es geht ma ned ei” can be heard and seen recently:
