Yanqing (dpa) – The mixed team event of the alpine ski racers at the Olympic Winter Games in China has been postponed to Sunday. Due to strong winds, the competition was initially postponed several times and finally removed from the agenda altogether.
Now it should be made up for on Sunday (2:00 a.m. CET). It is the last chance for the German alpine squad to win a medal and avoid the second zero in a row at the Winter Games.
The best results of the Alpines of the German Ski Association (DSV) at the games in China so far have been the fourth places of Lena Dürr in the slalom and Kira Weidle in the downhill. In 2018 in Pyeongchang, the German alpine team went away empty-handed. In 2014 in Sochi there were still three medals. Back then, Maria Höfl-Riesch won gold in the combination and silver in the super-G, Viktoria Rebensburg won bronze in the giant slalom.
