Winter didn’t count a single ice day this year | Weather news

In an average winter (period 1991-2020), six ice days are measured in Uccle. Last year there were five, but the year before (2019-2020) there were also zero. We already have to go back to the winter of 2012-2013 to see another figure that is above average. Then there were sixteen ice days.

The chances of us getting another one this year are getting smaller and smaller. In 2018, there was a very last ice day on March 18. There has never been such a late ice day in Uccle before (since 1901), according to Deboosere.

The coldest day of the past winter season – that is the day with the lowest maximum temperature of winter – we got this year on January 10, 2022, according to the weatherman. The temperature was then 1 degree.
