The confetti cannons can go back in the closet: for the time being, we will have to make do with Eddy Zoëy at RTL Boulevard. There is no Winston Gerschtanowitz return.
After a short period of rumors, it was announced in the summer that Winston Gerschtanowitz is no longer an exclusive face of SBS 6, after a collaboration of about six years. What followed was a very showy flirt with RTL Boulevard: “Suppose, for example, I want to present at RTL Boulevard, then that can now be done more easily.”
Winston withdraws flirtation
A return would have advantages for both Winston and RTL Boulevard. His TV career only went downhill after his departure from the show section and nowadays Boulevard viewers have to make do with Eddy Zoëy. On the other hand, Winston no longer has a spotless image because of his tree-hustling.
Anyway: Winston withdraws his flirtation again. He does this in conversation with the weekly magazine Weekend, which asks him about his work ambitions. “Tell me, do you want them to ask you to work behind the desk again?”
‘Irrelevant’
Winston states that there is no return. “No, that is not an issue and I would not want that anymore. So I can help you out of that dream immediately. Why wouldn’t I want it? I consciously stopped doing it at the time, that is behind me.”
He continues: “It’s a fantastic program and it’s always nice when I meet the crew and see them working on the red carpet. I had a great time there, but at some point you just get on with life. I am now looking forward to a new season of Marble Mania, which I can present again for SBS 6.”
Never say never’
And what about his girlfriend Renate Gerschtanowitz? Nowadays it doesn’t eat anything at all anymore. She did Show News for years, but now says she no longer feels like doing TV: “Never say never, but I have no plans for the near future. If something comes along that I really like, then yes. But not because we have to.”
She concludes: “I am often asked to participate as a participant in programs. If it’s fun, I’d like to participate. But I do very nice other things, such as our website pets.nlThat also makes it a bit easier. I find that really fun to do.”
