Winston Gerschtanowitz’s visit to the home winner of Miljoenenjacht last night aroused anger among viewers of SBS 6. “Half a million euros won? Just throw on the big heap!”
The Linda de Mol show Miljoenenjacht last night awarded an amount of no less than 488 thousand euros to the candidate who played the suitcase game in the studio. The same amount also went to a home winner, namely Mr Geert from Dinxperlo. Reporter Winston Gerschtanowitz rang his doorbell live during the broadcast.
“Throw in the heap!”
Geert, who had an Audi Q3 with a new price of about 65 thousand euros in front of the door, was pleasantly surprised with the cash prize. What will he do with it? “Oh, I’ll have to think about that very carefully, I don’t have a clue. We are very happy in itself.”
It causes enormous annoyance to viewers. “Hahaha, half a million! Throw in the big heap!”, says one cynical viewer. And one Yun: “This man doesn’t need it. Give that money to a good cause.”
‘Fat Audi’
Cindy doesn’t think it’s deserved. “And the 488 thousand euros goes to people with a fat Audi on the sidewalk!”
Roland: “Pfff I hate it when the Postcode Lottery home prize falls to people with knacks. Rarely in a terraced house or flat.”
Django: “That man’s hall is just as big as the average living room in Amsterdam.”
Marc: “It’s a shame that the amount of the home winner again does not end up with someone who really needs it.”
And Dias cynically: “It’s nice that Winston is ringing the doorbell again somewhere in a deprived area.”
bland reactions
The experienced TV viewer Victor Hopman finds the reactions to this gentleman very bad. “What a lackluster reaction to the home winner. You can’t look in his wallet, can you? Who knows, he might need it just as much.”
A certain Maartje then says: “Always such a non-discussion anyway. Whoever participates can win. I suspect that if they say at the Postcode Lottery: ‘You can only participate under that and that salary and that and that WOZ value, some people will also think something about it…’”
Studio winner
The studio winner does enjoy a lot of sympathy from the viewers:
