Winner of 12.8 million euros reports after almost two months in the Netherlands | Abroad

After 1.5 months, the winner of the State Lottery has reported to the Netherlands. Almost 13 million euros can be credited to his account. The winning ticket was bought in the village of Bleiswijk. In recent days, flyers were sent there and an advertising plane was sent into the air to track down the winner. Today it finally paid off.

According to the State Lottery, the person in question “partly thanks to this publicity” reviewed his lottery number and then reported to claim the million-dollar prize. Earlier, the State Lottery also called on the residents of Bleiswijk to do a good search at home. The identity of the winner will remain anonymous. It is therefore also not clear whether the person comes from Bleiswijk – close to Rotterdam.

It kept the spirits busy in the Dutch village in recent days: 12,800,000 euros. Above the counter of the Primera hung a large (fake) check with the astronomical amount written on it. “We ask customers: ‘Is it you? Have you looked carefully in all the drawers?’” owner Agnes Brandhorst told our colleagues from AD.nl with a smile. “Suppose fate has ended up in the trash.”

The cash prize fell on March 10, and a day later, Brandhorst was informed that the winning ticket numbered FV 74622 had been purchased from her shop. A month and a half later, the multimillionaire-to-be still hadn’t come forward. It is virtually impossible to find out who owns the piece of paper worth 12.8 million euros. For example, because of privacy, she was not allowed to check the camera images from her store.

The State Lottery was also bored with it. “We are looking hard,” said a spokesperson for the organization. “Sometimes people want to let it sink in or come on a special day to collect the money. We noticed that it took a long time, especially with this amount.”

Cynthia van Parreren, spokesperson for the Dutch Lottery, was looking for the winner earlier this week:
