The winner of 30 million euros, the main prize of the State Lottery’s New Year’s Eve draw, has not yet reported. A lottery spokesperson said this on Wednesday morning. The winning ticket was sold in the municipality of Woensdrecht. But it is not yet clear who can credit thirty million euros to his account in one go, even with the Staatsloterij after three days.
“We can’t wait to receive and congratulate the winner on winning the main prize of 30 million euros,” Bjorn Rosner of the Staatsloterij said earlier. And that is still the case after a few days. He is not surprised that the winner has not yet reported.
“It varies from year to year. Last year the winner reported immediately. But perhaps in this case the winner is still on holiday and does not yet know that he or she has won,” he suggests.
Special promotion to find a winner?
Rosner is not afraid that the person will not report. He therefore does not expect that the State Lottery will have to take special action to find the winner. The lottery did this at the end of last year, for example, by flying planes over the Netherlands with the text behind them: ‘478,885 tickets are looking for a winner!’
These were winning lottery numbers from the 2022 New Year’s Eve lottery with a total prize money of 3.95 million. The winners then had until December 31, 2023 to report.
However, Rosner does not expect that planes will have to be sent to Woensdrecht in this case. He thinks that the owner of the lot with lot number EF 44384 will come forward soon.
