Calum Scott has released his new album “Avenoir” – and ROLLING STONE is giving away records to four lucky winners. “Avenoir” is the third record by the British pop singer, who will also be on tour in Germany in November 2025.
“Avenoir”: A life full of memories
The work consists of 14 tracks and was produced by Jon Maguire. According to Scott, the title refers to John Koenig’s literary project “The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows.” There “Avenoir” is described as the backwardness of life. Accordingly, a person lives like an athlete rows: he moves forward, but looks back and only sees where he was – not where he is going.
“The songs on this album speak of both regret and sadness as well as undying love – a plea to live life to the fullest,” Scott said of the album, according to the press release. “As I was writing, I asked myself, ‘If I could, would I choose to anticipate what’s coming?’ I firmly believe that we are made up of our successes and challenges, of adapting and overcoming.”
He added: “The concept of ‘Avenoir’ challenges us all to live in the here and now and reminds us that it is the surprises and the unknowing that make life so scary, but also so magical.”
An album full of self-confidence
“For a long time, I’ve tried to prove to the world – but most importantly to myself – that I deserve to be where I am,” Scott said, according to the press release. When he started working on “Avenoir”, he felt a self-confidence that he didn’t know from his first two albums. “I realized that I had my foot firmly in the door and that I could achieve so much more with my music than I thought possible. This gave me a whole new sense of freedom and allowed me to evolve.”

The artist from Kingston upon Hull is also immediately bringing the album live to his fans. The “Avenoir Tour” starts in October through Great Britain, Europe, North America and South Africa. German fans can also look forward to four shows.
