Wimbledon, the program for Wednesday 6, Kyrgios and Nadal

In both fields we start with a women’s match (Halep-Anisimova and Rybakina-Tomljanovic) before the last two men’s quarters, which will therefore be simultaneously

Four days after the battle of nerves against Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios will return to field 1, which has turned into an arena in the third round match between the Australian and the Greek. The Canberra boy will play for access to the first career Grand Slam semifinal with Cristian Garin, who miraculously landed in the quarterfinals after being under two sets to zero against Alex de Minaur, compatriot of Kyrgios. “I’m sorry not to play against De Minaur, I entered the field who won two sets to zero and now I discover that he has lost …” the words of Nick at the end of the victory against Brandon Nakashima.

The program

The match between Kyrgios and Garin, player for the first time in the quarter-finals of a Major, will be the second on field 1: the match between Ajla Tomljanovic and Elena Rybakina, head of series number 17. Both are looking for the first Grand Slam semi-final of their careers, with the Australian returning to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon after arriving there last year as well. On the Central field there will be the other two singles matches, which will complete the quarterfinal picture: at 2.30 pm Simona Halep will take the field against Amanda Anisimova – seeded number 16 and 20 respectively -, then it will be the turn of Rafael Nadal against Taylor Fritz. The two most anticipated matches – that of Kyrgios and Nadal, who could be in the semifinals – will therefore (at least partially) be simultaneously.
