Wimbledon, the program and the Italians: Berrettini and Nadal, Serena

Matteo faces Garin at 2 pm Italian time, but it is the day of the great returns of Rafa and Williams. Among the Italians: Musetti, Sonego, and Paolini. Camila with Frech

Lunch with Matteo. It won’t be breakfast at Tiffany’s, but Berrettini also keeps everyone glued to the TV (or smartphone, or tablet): the possible – and hoped-for – ride of the Roman tennis player to Wimbledon will begin on Tuesday at 2 pm Italian (1 pm local time), on field 1 against Christian Garin. Last year’s finalist match will open the program on the second most important field of the Championships, which like the Center Court resists rain due to the roof: followed by Halep-Muchova and Tsitsipas-Rischard.

On the Central

Half an hour later Berrettini will take the field the most awaited tennis player, Iga Swiatek: the number 1 in the world, who comes to Wimbledon with an open streak of 35 games won in a row, will inaugurate the second day on the Centrale, starting at 2.30 pm Italian against the Croatian Jana Fett. What a day on the Center Court: to follow it will be Rafael Nadal’s turn, on the pitch with Francisco Cerundolo, before the program is closed by the other watched special, Serena Williams. The seven-time Wimbledon champion – out of the top 1000 female players in the world, she hasn’t played an official match since last year’s first round – will face France’s Harmony Tan.

Musetti and the others

The “Lorenzi” debut today in the tournament. Musetti will take the field against Taylor Fritz at the end of the day, in the fourth match on field 12. Sonego will instead be engaged against the American Denis Kudla, who gave Berrettini a hard time at Queen’s. Among women, third match of the day for Jasmine Paolini who faces the two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova. Camila Giorgi, on the other hand, finds the Polish Frech on the other side of the net. All matches are live on Sky Sport.
