Pole vaulter Wilma Murto, 24, who won European Championship gold this year, is currently on vacation in the warmth of Italy.
Murro has his partner, also called the “hot hat man”, as company on the holiday trip Jaakko Linkoheimo. The couple met each other in Helsinki at the Flow festival and they have been together for several years.
Murto and Linkoheimo have traveled through several Italian cities during their trip. Murto published a series of photos on his own Instagram account, which shows that the couple enjoyed, among other things, the mountainous landscapes of Italy and white wine during the trip.
Murto also published a sensitive photo together, where the two pose leaning on each other in the warmth of Italy. The publication’s comment field was filled with admiration.

“We like to treat ourselves”
Murto opened up about his relationship to Iltalehte in the summer. Linkoheimo, who works as a physical education teacher and coach of the Finnish electric wheelchair volleyball national team, supported Murto on the spot both at the European Championship in Munich and at the World Championships organized in the United States.
Over the summer, several kissing photos of the couple were captured during Murro’s competition performances.
– He is important. He knows the most about my life and is present. He lives with challenges and victories, Murto said gently about his partner.

The couple did not live together in the summer, but Murto said that the couple closely supported each other in everyday life. The pole vaulter said that he gets a “good new perspective” from his partner in his daily life as an athlete. Linkoheimo’s background is in team sports and crossfit.
– I have to explain why we do or think about things in a certain way. He challenges my own thoughts, Murto said.
– Mainly, he is a counterweight that you don’t always have to talk about sports. We don’t think about the work matters of either of them, he continued.
Linkoheimo, on the other hand, told Iltalehte about the couple’s common interests outside of sports.
– We like to treat ourselves. Both are interested in good food and good coffee. It’s coffee sophistication.
Linkoheimo described his partner as a “really happy and cheerful country girl”.
