“My preparation for Singapore was a little different than usual, but I feel good and I have done everything possible to prepare for one of the most physical races on the calendar,” Albon said. “I’m not underestimating how big the challenge this is going to be, but I’m looking forward to getting out on track and riding again on Friday.”
Albon went under the knife in Milan earlier this month, but complications arose after the operation. The 26-year-old British Thai was therefore even a night in intensive care on a ventilator.
In the absence of Albon, De Vries made a sensational debut in Formula 1 three weeks ago. De Fries finished ninth in the Italian Grand Prix and collected two World Cup points. With this he applied emphatically for a permanent seat in Formula 1.
