William Spaaij will play a role in the new version of the musical grease. He has been cast as presenter Vince Fontaine, producer Albert Verlinde announced tonight in the SBS6 program HLF8.
Spaaij is the first name that has become known. Verlinde will announce a large part of the rest of the cast on Wednesday. Who will play the leading roles of Sandy and Danny will not be known until later. Those actors are wanted in the Avrotros talent show Looking for… Danny and Sandy.
The musical was first seen in the Netherlands 25 years ago. The play is based on the 1978 film of the same name and tells the story of teenagers Danny and Sandy who are unexpectedly reunited at school after a holiday fling. John Travolta and the recently deceased Olivia Newton-John played the lead roles.
Grease will travel to Dutch theaters from spring.
