William Boeva stands behind his statements about ‘Down the road’: “Nice program, but this is not inclusion”

“Flemish media: we people with disabilities are not here to make you feel better.” It is with these words that William Boeva lashes out at the makers of, among others, ‘Down the road’ and ‘Out of office’ in an open letter. The 32-year-old comedian, who has a disability himself, does not agree with the way people with disabilities are portrayed. The public broadcaster regrets Boeva’s opinion: “We are just very proud of the heartwarming ‘Down the road’.” But the comedian stands behind his statements. “Inclusion is someone with a disability who reads the weather forecast.”
