The Willem II – TOP Oss match was canceled on Friday evening. Heavy rainfall makes it impossible to play the Kitchen Champion Division match in Tilburg.
The match will be retaken on October 3, from eight o’clock in the evening.
Unplayable
Many images of the field in the King Willem II Stadium in Tilburg are circulated on X. Large puddles of water can be seen. The culprit is a heavy downpour just before the start of the match. Then there was so much water on the field that the ball would no longer roll.
After intensive consultation between the trainers of the two clubs and the referees, the decision was made that the field is unplayable.
Supporter’s campaign falls apart
After the first whistle, some Willem II supporters planned to ‘leave the stadium for at least 10 minutes’. This is because of the policy pursued by the Tilburg club.
