Willem II faces an exciting return in the play-offs for promotion

Willem II lost to VVV Venlo (3-2) in the first round of the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie. The Venlo team did not lack luck, because the Tilburgers seemed to be on their way to an easy victory for almost half a year.

Jizz Hornkamp opened the score in the 13th minute and also made it 0-2 in the 36th minute. Yet the tide turned. The Venlo attackers Sven Braken and Nick Venema played a leading role in this. Vomiting extended at 1-2 without initially noticing a bet from Venema behind the Tilburg goalkeeper.

VVV also had no bad luck with the equalizer. Braken converted a penalty kick after Pol Llonch had unluckily received the ball on one hand. Venema also gave the home team from Venlo the lead in the 65th minute, on the instructions of Braken: 3-2. The Tilburgers did not have an answer to that.

So it will be an exciting return on Saturday, albeit in Tilburg. Then Willem II will fight for a place in the semi-finals of the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie.
