The dark days before Christmas are almost upon us. The question now is: is it gray and wet in Zoetermeer or does the sun shine a lot? Meteorologist Jaco van Wezel van Weatheronline tells more about it.

One thing is certain: the temperature drops from the beginning of December. We have already noticed that with a lower temperature and a cold wind. It is about 7 degrees during the day and about 2 degrees at night. “That’s normal for this time of year,” says Jaco.
No snow and ice fun
Jaco thinks that Zoetermeer residents should wrap up pretty thickly when they go outside. Still, the thermal underwear can stay in the attic. “Yes, there is a light frost at night and an easterly wind brings cold air. But the real winter cold does not reach Zoetermeer. Snow and ice fun is therefore probably not in it,” Jaco clarifies. “But there is no question of a lot of rain!” According to the meteorologist, the sun does not break through often, so that the sky often turns gray.
Christmas weather forecast
What does Zoetermeer look like during the Christmas period? That is still difficult to say, but Jaco indicates that the chance that you walk through a snowy city is small. “For a white Christmas it has to be colder than normal at exactly the right time and then there has to be precipitation. That doesn’t seem to be the case now. Statistically, the chance of a white Christmas is only 7 percent. But the lover of snow at Christmas can keep hope.”
