“The more electric cars on our roads, the faster road pricing threatens to be introduced.” Traffic experts say this is becoming increasingly louder. Due to increasing electrification, our government would see 1.5 billion euros in fuel excise duties disappear by 2030. And such an amount must of course be sought elsewhere. But is the Belgian driver ready to pay per kilometer? And aren’t there better solutions? We asked professor of transport economics Bruno De Borger (University of Antwerp).
