Will thousands of people soon be going to Knokke in shorts and with a fridge box?

The call is on social media, and comes after a video from the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. It shows two chic ladies from Knokke-Heist, who give their opinion on certain tourists: “If people don’t walk around decently dressed, for example. Does that annoy you? Yes, to be honest, yes. Shorts, shorts are a no-go you say? We think as Knokkenaar there is still a certain old lifestyle that should be preserved. What do you think? What do you think? Yes, I think so too. And sometimes people come from France and so with the refrigerator box on the beach, they ‘don’t use anything from the restaurant’ and so on.”

As a counter-reaction, a call has now been launched via Facebook to encourage people to all go to Knokke in shorts and/or with a refrigerator. Already 15,000 people are showing interest, a tenth of them say they will definitely go.
