Will we have another Indian summer in Zoetermeer this month or can the gloves be taken out of the closet? Jaco van Wezel, meteorologist at weatheronline.nl comes with the October weather forecast.

He has bad news for the Zoetermeerders who still need days with about 25 degrees. “There may be pleasant moments next week and there is also a chance of slightly warmer weather than usual at the end of October. But the chance of a period with really warm late summer weather with maximums of 20-25 degrees is small. It will probably be quite cold in mid-October,” says Jaco.
Chance of rain decreases
We have had a lot of rain in Zoetermeer the last few days, but the chance of rain decreases at the beginning of October. The wind dies down and the dry weather takes over. The sun also shows itself a bit more, but in the morning you still have to be careful because it can be foggy then.
Local frosts
For mid-October, the temperature seems normal for the time of year. On average, it is 14 or 15 degrees during the day in mid-October. At night it is about 9 degrees on the coast and 6 degrees inland. During clear nights it can easily get colder and there is a chance of local night frost, especially in the interior.

Softer days
Do the gloves have to come out of the closet already? It’s not that bad yet, because as mentioned earlier, Zoetermeer will have to deal with milder days at the end of October. It will be about 15 to 18 degrees. That is higher than normal, because normally the temperature at the end of the month is around 13 degrees.
