Valencia Basket and Barça tried to close an agreement for the Serbian forward that the ACB will notify this Saturday

The player was waiting for the resolution of the case between both teams, with several offers to the forward also from Europe

Barça and Valencia finalized an agreement yesterday whereby Serbian forward Nikola Kalinic can become a Barça player today. Both parties negotiated yesterday on the deadline in which Valencia Basket had to notify the ACB that it matched the offer presented by Barça a few days ago.

If Valencia took the necessary step to retain their rights, the ACB did not notify it yesterday, although it is expected that this morning they will make a statement clarifying the player’s situationr regarding Barça’s interest in signing him and if Valencia agrees to cede their rights to Barça in an agreement between both parties. Be that as it may, yesterday it was expected at midnight that one of the parties would announce the resolution of the case, but there was no communication from either party.

In case there is no agreement, the negotiation could take another day, although Barça wants to close the deal as soon as possible to finish designing the squad for the next season.

Some European teams are waiting for what happens with the Serbian forward and are willing to make him an offer if Valencia does not reach an agreement with Barça. In fact, his former team, Red Star, is willing to offer him a better contract than the Blaugrana, which is for two seasons for 2.8 million euros.

Valencia is also interested in reaching an economic agreement as soon as possible in order to reinforce the squadof a team that returns to the Euroleague. This same Friday, Valencia Basket announced the hiring of the American power forward, James Webb III, from UCAM Murcia, after having also negotiated his departure and for which he has paid 150,000 euros. We’ll see what happens today.
