Will the sun make it through the autumn holidays? Our weatherman knows

The late summer weather of last week continues this week. But some changes are coming towards the autumn holidays, says Johnny Willemsen from Weerplaza.

This Monday the temperature will be 22 degrees. According to Johnny, it remains dry. “It was already 16 degrees at a quarter to eight in the morning,” Johnny said in the radio program ‘WAKKER!’ on Omroep Brabant. “That’s the normal maximum temperature for this time of year.”

According to the weatherman at Weerplaza, the 22 degrees we reached this Monday is not a date record, although it is warm for this time of year. “Rain fell early in the morning in the north of the Netherlands. Not here in Brabant, although there is a lot of cloud. In the afternoon the sun breaks through and then the temperature rises.”

“It will be a few degrees cooler from Wednesday.”

The temperature will also remain high for this time of year on Tuesday and Wednesday. “Then it will be 22 degrees again, maybe even 23 degrees on Wednesday. So three very mild days in a row. Rain will follow from the northwest on Wednesday evening and then it will be a few degrees cooler.”

Friday is the only exception. “Then another portion of warm air will pass by and it can become 22 degrees again. But on Thursday and next weekend the temperature will be well below 20 degrees. Still warmer than normal, but a bit cooler than we are used to. We “We will then get an alternation of sun and showers. It also seems to be quite warm on Saturday, with 18 degrees. On Sunday it will be about 15 degrees.”

“Autumn holidays will certainly not be soaking wet.”

Johnny has some less good news for those who start their autumn holidays after that. Then it won’t look warm. “The start of that week is on the chilly side, with 14 or 15 degrees. Later in the week it will be a little warmer. It will not remain dry, although it will certainly not be a soaking wet week.”
