Will the Rolling Stones’ upcoming album be called Hackney Diamonds? A newspaper ad says so. In the British newspaper “Hackney Gazette” Recently, an ad for a company called Hackney Diamonds appeared – and the text is full of references to Stones classics: “Our friendly staff promises you satisfaction. If you say ‘gimme shelter’ we will fix your broken windows.”
The English-language original explains the references to the Stones hits in more detail: “Our friendly staff promises you satisfaction. When you say gimme shelter, we’ll fix your shattered windows.”
Just above the “i” in “Hackney Diamonds” is the Stones logo. Below is “Est. 1962” – known to be the year the band was founded. Also read: “Opening September 2023”. This could mean the release date of the upcoming long player. The specially created website to Hackney Diamonds. It not only gives an address on Mare Street in the London borough of Hackney, but also a mailing list from Universal Music, the Rolling Stones’ record label.
Rumors of a new album by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have been around for a long time. It should also contain the last recordings of Charlie Watts, who died on August 24, 2021.
The Rolling Stones’ last album to date, Blue and Lonesome, was released in 2016. A cover record. The last Stones album with their own songs dates back to 2005: “A Bigger Bang”.
