Will Smith Hosts Hip-Hop Podcast Class of ’88

US actor and rapper Will Smith will host the upcoming one Hip-hop podcast “Class of ’88”. The podcast will consist of eight episodes and will be available on Audible and Amazon Music starting October 26th. Smith’s guests will be some of the most important figures in the hip-hop genre, including Chuck D. (Public Enemy), Queen Latifah, Darryl McDaniels (Run-DMC), Salt-N-Pepa, Rakim and DJ Jazzy Jeff, Smith’s partner in the duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince.

The podcast is released to celebrate the genre’s 50th anniversary. “Hip-hop has been a central part of my life for over four decades,” Smith told Billboard. “I look forward to sharing my first-hand experiences with those of some of hip-hop’s greatest legends as we delve into the origins of one of the most influential music genres in history.”

The class of ’88 is an important part of hip-hop history. It was the birth of DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, whose first song won the first Grammy for the genre, as well as numerous important records such as IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLIONS TO HOLD US BACK by Public Enemy, FOLLOW THE LEADER by Eric B. & Rakim and TOUGHER THAN LEATHER by Run-DMC
