Will Smith is once again in the crossfire of criticism. This time not because of a slap in the face, but because of a kissing attempt.
Will Smith with a performance at the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards 2025 in Miami ensured a smaller controversy. The reason was a (unsuccessful) stage kiss during a joint live performance with the Spanish flamenco/pop artist India Martínez.
Smith and Martínez presented their common single “First Love” at the event. As reported, among other things, the rapper and actor seemed to prevent a kiss during the performance, but Martínez rejected him. Later, however, it looked as if the singer herself approached Smith to kiss him.

Outrage about Will Smith: “This is the worst”
There is criticism on social media, but also a lot of ridicule. “I have been waiting for Jada to come from the left side of the stage and rub one because she kissed her husband,” wrote a user, alluding to Will Smith’s legendary slap in the face at the Oscars 2022, when he hit moderator Chris Rock, After he made fun of Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
“It looks as if any father was singing a drunken local at the karaoke,” joked an X-user. Another person noted according to The Independent: “This man is an actor and has already kissed many women who are not his wife. He is a paid entertainer – that is literally his job. ”
But there were also people who saw it much more drastically. “This is the worst,” judged an outraged social media user. “Inappropriately, even if it should only be ‘entertainment’,” said another person.
So far, Smith himself has not commented on this as little as his duet partner.
