Ricardo Pietreczko, Arno Merk, Martin Schindler and Gabriel Clemens are still in the running at the Darts World Cup. Pietreczko starts the third round. The live ticker.
Four Germans are in the third round of the Darts World Cup. Ricardo “Pikachu” Pietreczko is the first player to play. He meets the Swede Andreas Harrysson. Pietreczko goes into the match as favorite after strong performances in the World Cup.
1st set, 5th leg – Harryson has the throw-off and comes in with a 140, “Pikachu” only counters with a 60. The Swede follows up with a 100, Pietreczko doesn’t have a triple again. And the following five darts only land in single fields. Harryson can put a finish above tops – and he scores on the third attempt. The first set goes to the Swede!
1st set, 4th leg – Now the Swede has a few problems with the scoring, which gives Pietrezko some time. He faces 8 remaining and wants a finish over double 4. And with the first dart you succeed!
1st set, 3rd leg – Harryson has really outstanding scoring, after the third leg he is averaging 106. Pietreczko is over 100 but can’t get a break.
1st set, 2nd leg – “Pikachu” starts, but Harryson counters first with a 139, then with a 180. Pietreczko is first in the finishing area with 121 remaining, but can’t get a finish over the bull’s eye. But Harryson can’t take advantage of that. “Pikachu” equals!
1st set, 1st leg – Harryson has the throw – starts straight away with a 180. Pietreczko counters with a 140. Both continue with good scoring, Harryson is first in the finishing area, has 82 remaining – and checks!
Before the start – Swede Andreas Harrysson is the first player allowed onto the stage at Alexandra Palace. He runs in to “The Nights” by the late Swedish DJ Avicii.
