In Norway, there is already intense discussion about which distances Johannes Kläbo will ski in the World Championships.

Norway’s ski experts Petter Northug and Petter Skinstad argued on the TV2 channel about whether they should Johannes Kläbon skis 15 kilometers free at the World Championships in Planica.
– I wouldn’t take him along. We have 4–6 better skiers for that competition, says Skinstad directly.
– I don’t understand what he would get from that race, where he is probably not a gold candidate, unlike in the other five trips.
Northug strongly disagrees.
– If Johannes is fine, of course he will be there. Johannes is a winner, so he can win if he reaches maximum performance, Northug believes.
– Johannes has a plan, and I think he wants to ski 15 kilometers. If Johannes is fine and doesn’t ski, it’s a scandal, Northug continued.
According to the former skiing king, Kläbo’s travels should not even be discussed.
– I recognize myself in that situation. He wants to win and prove the judgments wrong. It might not be so easy for the average person to understand. He’s in it if he wants to be, and that’s right, says the two-time Olympian.
Kläbo himself is tired of the whole topic.
– There is so much speculation about the 15 km race. Wait and see. I don’t decide the team, but I will make my position clear, Kläbo said for VG.
