Ticket sales for Jari Sillanpää’s Christmas concert tour have started badly. Manager Ulla Huttunen is still confident.
The singer of the tumultuous one Jari Sillanpään ticket sales for the Christmas concert tour have gotten off to a bad start.
Tickets for the 19-concert tour went on sale in September. By October 13, more than half of the tickets for the concert held in Helsinki alone have been sold.
According to the sales outlook on the Lippu.fi website, about 70 percent of the tickets for the concert held at the Savoy Theater on December 13 have been sold. The capacity of the Savoy Theater is 750 spectators.
About 45 percent of the tickets for Sillanpää’s concerts in Hyvinkää on December 5 and Klaukkala on December 14 have been sold.

The situation for the remaining 16 concerts seems weak. From the outlook of the ticket sales services, it can be concluded that a paltry 10–30 percent of the tickets for the concerts have been sold during the first weeks, depending on the location.
The situation at the opening concert of the tour, for example, seems worrisome. By October 13, less than a hundred tickets, or about 15 percent of the tickets, have been sold for the concert in Joensuu’s Carelia hall on November 24. The capacity of the hall is 596 spectators.
On the other hand, only about 10 percent of the 750 permanto seats at the Kuopio Music Center have been sold. The concert is planned to be held on November 26.
Manager confident
The tour was supposed to start already on November 21 from Hämeenlinna. The city of Hämeenlinna canceled the concert planned for Verkatehta on October 4. CEO of Verkatehtaa Janne Auvinen justified the cancellation decision with the fact that “Hämeenlinna is a child-friendly city”.
It wouldn’t be unheard of for a loss-making concert – or an entire tour – to be canceled due to poor ticket sales.

Sillanpää’s manager and gig salesman Ulla Huttunen tells Iltalehte that there are no further cancellations coming from the band. According to Huttunen, tickets have been sold in advance “really well”.
Huttunen also points out that there is still a lot of time before the tour starts.
– In general, all cultural operators sell tickets closer to the event. This has remained the way the public acts after the corona years and others, Huttunen tells Iltalehte.
– We are already satisfied with the number of tickets purchased in advance at this stage, he assures.
Published in September Silt-documentary series has once again raised Sillanpää’s criminal convictions a few years ago as a topic of conversation. As a result of the uproar, the organizer has canceled Sillanpää’s performances at Helsinki’s John’s Church and Hämeenlinna’s Verkatehta.
