Meesseman won the title and the Euroleague with her Turkish club Fenerbahce, and became European basketball champion with the Belgian Cats, for the first time in Belgian history. The Cats have also been nominated for team of the year.
In addition Alec Segaert one of the three candidates for promise of the year, and makes Michele George chance to become Paralympian of the year for the third time. The Waregem rider won two gold medals at the European Championship.
