In recent days there have been increasing reports that Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt is about to sign Donny van de Beek. It was said that the Manchester United midfielder will come to the Main metropolis in January and will be brought in on loan. Now more and more details about the supposed framework conditions of the deal are being revealed.
The “Bild” confirmed on Wednesday the reports from the previous days that the negotiations between Man United and Eintracht are already well advanced.
The crucial sticking point at the moment is probably the question of salary. It is considered impossible that Eintracht will pay the Dutch national player seven million euros per year and thus a salary that is as high as on the island in Manchester.
There is currently still debate about whether the English will continue to pay part of van de Beek’s salary for the duration of the loan deal, or whether the player himself will forego part of the money.
Skhiri will not be available after the winter break
Van de Beek is under contract with the Red Devils until 2025, but was never really happy in Manchester. He never actually got beyond the status of supplementary player for the English record champions and was loaned out to Everton FC in the second half of the 2021/2022 season.
There has not yet been a single starting eleven appearance in the current season after the 26-year-old was out for months with a serious knee injury.
For the Hessians, van de Beek should immediately become an important figure in the central midfield, as regular player Ellyes Skhiri will not be available after the winter break due to his Tunisian national team’s participation in the Africa Cup. Captain Sebastian Rode is also still out injured, so the need for this position is undeniably great.
According to the newspaper report, van de Beek is considered the SGE bosses’ preferred candidate and the deal should be finalized as quickly as possible.
