It sometimes seems as if Duncan Laurence really can’t do anything right anymore after his failed ‘mentorship’ of Eurovision scandal Mia & Dion. “It’s just a creep!”
It is the media that can make or break the image of celebrities. It is therefore very important for stars to be able to deal well with reporting from the show press and juice channels. Types like Gerard Joling and Hélène Hendriks succeed very well in this, but there are also stars who throw their long toes into the fray a little too often.
Ugly sneer
The latter camp includes, for example, Samantha Steenwijk and Rachel Hazes, who just really don’t feel how you deal with the media. Duncan Laurence also has a hand in this: at one point he started demanding that RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws interview him in English. If he didn’t pass them by with very large sunglasses.
Duncan is now being vomited to such an extent that even a relatively salt-free program such as RTL Boulevard no longer even tries to disguise it. Nowadays, almost every item or announcement about the singer, even with good news, contains an ugly sneer.
Creepy
This week there was an item about Duncan’s wedding and bitch presenter Eddy Zoëy: “We know Duncan Laurence and his friend Jordan Garfield from the somewhat affected interviews they gave around the Eurovision Song Contest and which they only wanted to do in affected English, but today there is something nice to tell about them.”
And Johan Derksen went over that in Today Inside: “He really has become the scariest man in the Netherlands, hasn’t he? What a creep! I thought he was such a scary kid, but then all that hassle and those stories in the newspapers. In Sweden, I saw, he said yes. Blugh! And that we are harassed with that!”
Scandal
We have to get rid of that kid, says Johan. “We first had Geer & Goor, where one of the two was completely crazy, then we had the Hazes family and now we have that schnaep with that high-pitched voice.”
Now Duncan is in the news again because he bought a very expensive apartment in Amsterdam. Remarkably enough, that news was reported fairly neutrally in RTL Boulevard yesterday. The presenter on duty, Lex Uiting, really didn’t have a single sneer in store for the Arcade singer.
rosy
Lex even sounded quite positive. “After his burnout, things look a bit brighter for Duncan Laurence, because he just got married, his new album will be released in a month, but the singer has even more beautiful things to celebrate. He has bought an apartment in Amsterdam.”
Is there still light at the end of the media tunnel for Duncan?
