Will BVB hit Manchester City? Cole Palmer in hot demand

Borussia Dortmund is constantly on the profitable search for talent. The BVB scouts should also have noticed Cole Palmer from Manchester City. According to a media report, the black and yellow should have a good chance of transferring the attacking midfielder.

Will Cole Palmer play in the Bundesliga soon? The young Englishman was linked to a move to Germany by “The Athletic” a few days ago, and now “Bild” is providing further information. Accordingly, the 21-year-old Englishman is on Borussia Dortmund’s watch list. And not just recently, but for a year now.

After a transfer of the top talent, who went through all youth national teams in his country, could not be realized at that time, BVB should now have better chances. The reason: Palmer has so far only played a minor role in Manchester City’s professional team, and was (mostly) only considered for short assignments by star trainer Pep Guardiola.

But Palmer wants more. The left foot is aiming for regular match practice and could have identified BVB as the perfect place, they say. The reason: In Dortmund, other once hopeful talents such as Jadon Sancho or Jude Bellingham, who recently switched to Real Madrid, have already made it to stardom. Apparently, this hasn’t gone unnoticed by Palmer.

After Guardiola recently banned the youngster, who is usually used as a left winger or attacking midfielder, things could look different now.

Accordingly, Palmer could join Dortmund on loan to mature and take the next big step. A loan for two years is conceivable, according to “Bild”.

BVB probably has competition at Palmer

Palmer’s contract with ManCity, for which he played 25 games in all competitions last season (one goal, one assist), is still dated until 2026, so it would not have to be adjusted or extended for a loan (until 2025).

“The Athletic” recently reported that numerous clubs from the top half of the Bundesliga table are interested in the young Englishman.

Like BVB, RB Leipzig was already on Palmer’s turn last summer. In January, the 21-year-old is said to have rejected a loan move and wanted to fight his way through. That seems to have changed now.
