Borussia Dortmund are looking for a new left-back and some prominent names have already appeared in the rumor mill. According to a report, a Stuttgart cross specialist, who was also in discussion at FC Bayern in the recent past, expands BVB’s illustrious list of candidates.
Ramy Bensebaini, David Raum, Calvin Bassey, Ian Maatsen – there has been no shortage of alleged contenders for left-back in Dortmund recently. So far, however, none of the professionals has been really specific.
A new name is already making the rounds: after “picture“Information is Borna Sosa from VfB Stuttgart at BVB. The Croatian national player is considered one of the best crossers in the Bundesliga, especially the center forward Sasa Kalajdzic, who is also traded with Borussia, regularly benefited from the precise passes of the 24-year-old.
Sosa’s current working paper in Swabia is still valid until 2025, but according to reports, selling the top performer for the VfB bosses is definitely an option to create funds for other squad construction sites. The left foot himself should be open to a new challenge, preferably with a Champions League participant.
BVB would have to dig deep into their pockets for Sosa
Problem: In Stuttgart you should insist on a fee in the range of 25 million euros. It’s hard to imagine that Dortmund will respond to the demands – especially since bench presser Nico Schulz has to be made money first.
In addition, FC Bayern is also considered a potential buyer for Sosa. The German record champions are said to have tried to lure the Croatian to Munich as early as 2021.
The strong attacking defender has been used in 66 Bundesliga games (one goal, 19 assists).
