Wilfried Bony signs in Bolivia: Change to Club Always Ready

Was without a club for several months

Wilfried Bony has found a new club. More than six months after his contract with NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands ended, the 34-year-old striker is drawn to the Always Ready club in Bolivia. The top club of the División Profesional presented the former Ivorian international as a signing on Saturday.

For Bony, South America is the fourth continent during his active career. In addition to numerous positions in Europe, including Manchester City, he also played for Issia Wazi FC in his native Ivory Coast (Africa) and for the Saudi Al-Ittihad Club (Asia). Whether Bony will play for Always Ready in the league is questionable due to the foreigner regulation – the six places for players outside of Bolivia have already been filled. It seems possible that Bony will only be seen on the international stage in the Copa Libertadores if the squad remains unchanged. Always Ready starts at the end of February in the preliminary round of the South American “premier class”.
